2018-2019 RWB (8U) and MIGHTY KNIGHTS (6U) Programs
The Canandaigua Knights will be offering multiple RWB teams this season. All teams at this level participate in cross-ice games in accordance with USA Hockey regulations.
RW&B (8U) is open to skaters 7 or 8 years of age, with a cut off date birth date of 12/31/11 per USA Hockey age guidelines. Skills will be developed in accordance with the USA Hockey Initiation Program guidelines.
Mighty Knights (6U) is open to skaters 5 or 6 years of age, with a cut off birth date of 12/31/2013 per USA Hockey age guidelines. Skills will be developed in accordance with the USA Hockey Initiation Program guidelines.
Red Team, White Team and/or Blue Team (8U)
These teams will participate in the Empire Amateur Hockey Conference (EAHC), which consists of approximately 100 youth hockey teams all located within the greater Rochester area. All home games and practices will be held at the GCCC in Canandaigua. At least two of the teams at this age group will play at the same time for all home games. Away games will be at other participating organizations in the EAHC. The Red team, White team, and Blue team will likely NOT be traveling together (for the most part). All game times and locations are determined by the RWB scheduler for the EAHC .
Teams at this age group will practice two nights per week: usually Mondays and Wednesdays from 5:30 - 6:20PM beginning the week of September 17th.
The final number of teams will be determined based on the total number of participants and skill levels within this age group.
Mighty Knights (6U)
These teams are for our youngest hockey players and will typically have 2 on-ice sessions per week - either 2 practices or 1 practice and 1 game. The Mighty Knights will normally practice on Monday and Wednesday evening. The first practice will be held on Monday, October 15th from 5:30 - 6:20PM and the second practice will be held on Wednesday, October 17th also from 5:30 - 6:20PM.
All practices and home games will be held at the GCCC in Canandaigua. There will likely be a few "away" games that will be coordinated with other local organizations who have similar 6U programs. All games are set up by coaches and managers.
